Fish Seeker

Introducing the

Fish Seeker Mini Kontiki

Please read the Instructions in your Manual before using your Fish Seeker® Mini Kontiki for the first time. The best time to read it is before you head to the beach, so you can maximise fishing time.

Safety
Follow the advice in your Manual to maximise your enjoyment of the system whilst also protecting the safety of others.
  1. Keep your distance from other fishers
  2. Look out for the safety of others, specifically Children, Onlookers and passers-by, Animals (such as dogs, cats or seagulls), Swimmers and other water users, Watercraft – boats, kayaks, jet skis etc.
  3. Take extra care during launch time and make other beach users aware of where your Fish Seeker line is.
  4. Never leave hooks unattended, especially baited ones!
  5. Always disconnect the battery during transport or when it’s not in use.
  6. Always know where your Fish Seeker® is, use binoculars if necessary and do not use it at night or in poor light.
Legal Requirements
Always find out which specific local regulations, including size and bag limits apply when you plan your fishing expedition. Hook numbers are restricted in some locations. Fishing limits also vary dependant on the location. Do not break these regulations as penalties will apply, including potentially the loss of your Fish Seeker® equipment.
For NZ go to www.mpi.govt.nz or contact the Ministry of Primary Industries on NZ 0800 00 83 33.
For regions in Australia, please contact your local fishing regulatory authority to find out your local rules and regulations.

Identify your equipment
It is a fisheries requirement that the fisher is identified with their name, (initials and surname) on the float (the Fish Seeker® Mini Kontiki unit) which is attached to your line. It is also a recommendation that a phone number is included. We recommend naming all components such as the batteries and both sections of the hull.
Your insurance company may also cover the Fish Seeker® Mini Kontiki as a recreational item against loss. We recommend you check the extent of cover with your insurer.

App information
The Fish Seeker® Mini Kontiki can be controlled with our free smartphone app for Android and iOS devices, or with the included magnetic ring ("Magna-ring Control" on page 19). The app connects by Bluetooth with a range of approx. 10 metres. The Fish Seeker® will respond to your commands by revving the engine. Our app offers the same controls as the magna-ring (with the addition of displaying the battery level). To download and install the app, search "Fish Seeker" on Apple or Android app stores.

General Maintenance
Please refer to your Manual for detailed information in respect to General Maintenance.
  1. Clean after every use
  2. Check your fishing line periodically for any nicks, defects etc.
  3. Check the main seal of your Fish Seeker®, making sure it is clean and free of sand.
  4. When storing your Fish Seeker® always disconnect the battery and release the pressure on the seal by loosening the tie-rod (Page 34).
  5. Applying waterproof marine grease (Maintenance grease supplied) will ensure that electrical components are safe and secure from water damage.
  6. We recommend that you re-grease the jet units at least once a year. The supplied grease tube is designed to be inserted into the lubrication port shown in the Manual.
  7. Always operate the Fish Seeker® in water. Running the motors out of water can damage the water jets and motor seals. The Fish Seeker® will turn off its motors after 5 seconds if it senses that it is out of the water.
Battery Care
Please refer to your Manual for detailed information in respect to Battery care.
  1. Do not place the battery near fire or heat. This will reduce the risk of explosion and possible injury.
  2. Charge only with the provided battery charger. Use of other chargers may result in personal injury, fire, or damage.
  3. Remove the battery from the charger once charging is complete.
  4. Always remove the battery pack from your Fish Seeker® when performing maintenance, cleaning, or when not in use. Removing the battery pack will prevent accidental starting that could cause injury.
